My Top Favorite Photo Sessions of 2021

This year I'm giving a brief recap to share a few photoshoots I enjoyed the most in 2021.

Beyonca’s Sweet 16 Cummer Session

This session was the cutest idea. It was my first time shooting at the Cummer Museum in their garden and it worked out perfectly for Beyonca’s princess theme. When I say you only turn 16 once, Beyonca and her mom truly understood the assignment. This shoot was black girl magic in real time. Both Beyonca and her mom were the sweetest to work with.

Kyle and Jazz Surprise Engagement

This session is probably the highlight of my year. I helped Kyle plan a surprise engagement. This was something I wanted to do and when Kyle presented the opportunity I was more than excited! Working with this couple was truly an experience. I felt like I was photographing friends I’d known since college. Kyle and Jazz were friendly, funny and I loved watching their chemistry from behind the lens. The best part was being in on a special secret and being able to capture the genuine surprise of it all!

Nori Gami

The Nori Gami session was one of my favorites because I got to be surrounded by several beautiful black and brown women. The energy in the room was so full of love, support and encouragement. I enjoyed the diversity in the curls and textures of everyone’s hair and capturing them all in their simplest form of natural beauty. They all had kind spirits and I also love working with the owner, Pamela. She is also a sweetheart and fun to collaborate with anytime!

Kim’s 40th Birthday

This was Kim’s second photoshoot with me and she did not come to play! During her first session, she was shy and warming up to being in front of the camera. By the time we had our second session, she came to the table with so much more confidence ready to celebrate her milestone birthday! I loved her royalty theme. Her outfits and the colors she chose went perfect with her skin and her genuine personality. Her daughters were there on set as helpers, but also great sideline cheerleaders for their mom.

Kimmeco’s 40th birthday

I have done several birthday sessions this year, but this session probably made me laugh the most. Kimmeco rocked her shoot with confidence but was also open to trying different things to get various shots. I enjoyed that she embraced celebrating herself and living in that moment. She was also very patient when the venue wasn’t originally what she thought it would be. I appreciated that she trusted me to see it all through. In the end I was able to deliver results that left her very pleased and worthy of the 5 star review she gave me.

Honorary Mentions: Maternity Sessions

I worked with three lovely ladies this year and I enjoyed each of their sessions. I loved that each session brought in some element of nature. Whether it was water, flowers, a garden or natural trees. There will always be something special about the glow of an expecting mom. What’s surprising is that each of them were expecting a boy! What are the odds of that. I was so happy to be a part of a special moment and can’t wait to work with more glowing mamas in the future!!

I can't wait to see what fun sessions are in store for 2022. If you haven't booked a session yet, be sure to hit the contact button and fill out a form today! Or send an email to Hello@ignitedsoulexpressions.com
