I Started a YouTube Channel!

Guys! I am so excited to share a new project I've been working on. I started a YouTube channel and I will be premiering my first video Wednesday, December 1.

This is something I've wanted to do for a while now but I've been scared. Creating a YouTube channel can be a big deal and of course I wanted things to be perfect. But if I waited until I had everything "just right" I wouldn't be writing this blog right now.

I started this channel because as an avid YouTube user, especially when learning about the ins and outs of photography; I noticed not many of the people I was learning from actually looked like me. Finding African American photographers on YouTube who are sharing their stories and sharing things behind the camera lens was and is very difficult to find. While there are some, they are few.

So I decided it was time to start expanding this niche and telling more stories of black photographers and other creative people I know. I went to college for journalism and now this is my way of being able to actively put my communications degree to use telling people's stories and sharing what I know about photography. I hope whatever I am able to share eventually inspires the next generation of photographers and creatives to come.

Behind the Lens was actually an IG Story series short lived on my Instagram page in 2020. I did it once a week on Fridays as a way to share a little bit more about myself behind the camera lens. I was looking for a way to make things more personable to better connect and engage with my audience. Eventually, I made it a blog series.

So far I've featured one local photographer from my hometown, Jacksonville, Fl. You can read my interview with Ava Cloudz of PhotosbyCloudz Here. I am working on interviewing others soon to keep things going. I am really excited about 2022. I hope you are just as excited to share this journey with me as well.

If you are interested in seeing anyone featured specifically or have an idea for an educational topic, please let me know. Send an email to Hello@ignitedsoulexpressions.com

As of now, I have my intro video uploaded and more videos to come. For now it would be great if you could subscribe to my channel and share with others what I'm planning to do with this project.

You can also stay in the loop by subscribing to my email list as well to be a part of the ISE Club. Get the news and exclusive updates in your inbox first before I announce anything to the general public! The sign up form is on the website.
